      Itinerary

      Day 1: Pool Theory

      9 AM: Your adventure begins at our Dive Centre, conveniently located at 319 Draper Street in Cairns. As you step in, you’ll be warmly greeted by your experienced instructor, and the journey toward becoming a certified diver officially kicks off. Expect an engaging dive theory session that not only educates but also sets the stage for the exciting days ahead.

      Free Lunch Choices: While lunch isn’t included, you have the freedom to bring your own packed meal or explore the abundance of nearby dining options.

      Afternoon: Dive into the pool and start mastering essential scuba skills. By day’s end, you’ll have triumphed over the tread water test, concluding your underwater practice at around 5:30 PM.

      Day 2: Pool Theory

      9 AM: We’ll pick you up right from your Cairns city accommodation, ensuring your convenience and comfort throughout the course.

      Morning: The pool is your playground again as you continue to hone your scuba skills. Today, you’ll conquer the 200-meter swim test and gear up in your wetsuit and equipment for more exciting underwater adventures.

      Afternoon: The day concludes with a comprehensive review of scuba theory, culminating in a multiple-choice exam that showcases your newfound knowledge.

      Day 3 and 4: Day trips to the Outer Reef

      Day Trips to the Outer Reef: Prepare for an unforgettable journey as you board the AquaQuest at the scenic Cairns Marlin Marina. The adventure to the Great Barrier Reef commences with a 90-minute cruise, filled with anticipation and excitement.

      8:30 AM: Arriving at the outer reef, you’ll receive a detailed briefing before gearing up for your first training dive. Here, you’ll put your skills to the test in a breathtaking underwater world.

      12 PM: Lunchtime is a hearty affair, replenishing your energy for the exhilarating afternoon ahead.

      12:30 PM: Dive in for your second dive, where you’ll further refine your newfound abilities. Plus, take the opportunity to practice snorkeling amidst the reef’s picturesque shallow cays. Following your fourth open water dive, you’ll emerge as a certified diver—congratulations on this incredible achievement!

      2:30 PM: As the day winds down, you’ll cruise back to Cairns, arriving at around 4:30 PM. Reflect on your extraordinary journey and the new world you’ve discovered beneath the surface.

      • Medical certificate if required. Ability to pass a 200m swim, and 10min treading water test. Dive medical to AS 4005.1 (if required). Once at Deep Sea you will meet your PADI Instructor, who will help you complete basic paperwork, and conduct a tour of our facilities. To ensure you don’t need a medical certificate, we collect basic medical information and check your BMI.
      • Currently, the rules state that for a single no-decompression dive, you should not fly/go to altitude for at least 12 hours. Multiple dives: 18 hours. Deep Sea Divers Den recommends waiting a minimum 24 hours whenever possible. These are guidelines only, there is no guarantee that these recommendations will prevent decompression sickness. Currently, there are no guidelines regarding diving after flying. Altitude is 300m/1000ft above sea level. This includes going to the Atherton Tablelands, so be careful when you are booking tours to follow your dive course/trip. Under normal circumstances, you should be out of the water on your last dive at 12 pm (midday).

      Ability to pass a 200m swim and 10 minute treading water test is required.
