Fraser Island is the biggest island in the world which is surrounded by lush rainforest with over 100 freshwater lakes to take your pick from for a refreshing dip. Meet new friends whilst cruising along listening to tunes in 4WD vehicles. Maybe if you’re lucky you will catch a glimpse of some of the island’s wildlife including dingos and lizards.
There are so many highlights on Fraser Island on our 3-day Fraser Island tag-along tour. You will swim through the crystal clear waters of the stunning Lake McKenzie, and hike to Indian Head to take in amazing 360-degree views of the island. Relax in the Champagne Pools, take turns driving 4×4’s along the beach to all the world-class destinations, You will then drive to Eli Creek to soak in the waters of the pristine creek and explore beautiful heritage-protected rainforests.
This tour departs from either Rainbow Beach or from Noosa, so option to start and finish from either spot on the East Coast.

Itinerary
Day 1 starts early with a pick up from Nomads Noosa After we get your luggage into storage, you’ll be heading towards Rainbow Beach where you’ll be arriving after a 1.5-2hr drive. We stop here to collect, other guests and the 4WD’s and once the vehicle orientation is complete we’re on our way to amazing K’gari. If departing from Rainbow beach, we will collect you from the BP Petrol station at 9.15am.
We take the ferry from Rainbow Beach and land at Hook Point on the Southern tip of Fraser Island approximately 10 min later.
Stay overnight in 4 man tents in a pre set up campsite with comfy beds and linen.
Your second day means another early start so you get to make the most of your time on the island! After breakfast (continental style breakfast – cereal, toasts, spread, tea & coffee), we continue your adventure K’gari adventure. The itinerary can vary subject to tides and weather conditions but the aim is that over the tour you will see Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, Maheno Wreck, Champagne Pools, Lake Wabby and drive along 75 mile beach.
Back to the same camp site, help with dinner prep and then hang with your new friends.
After breakfast we continue seeing the sights. We start to head home around lunch time. A brief stop at Rainbow Beach, to drop off any Rainbow Departures before driving back to Nomads Noosa arriving anytime between 3.00 – 6.00pm (please don’t arrange any buses or flights as we cannot guarantee a return time). On return you meet in the bar for a debrief, luggage collection and for those staying at Nomads Noosa (95% of guests stay) to collect their room keys.
We suggest staying overnight in Noosa as we cannot guarantee you will be back in time to catch you plane or bus, plus we don’t want you to miss out on the entertainment we have at KB’s bar. An amazing end to an amazing trip!
If you are leaving the tour in Rainbow we can drop you in town on the way out to Noosa.

Important Booking Info
- Optional extra to the package can include 2 nights in a 16 share mixed en-suite dorm at Nomads Noosa which provides the opportunity to get to know the rest of your tour group departure. If this is not for you, there are options to upgrade to a smaller or private room (subject to availability).
- Return trip – Guests are driven back to Nomads Noosa at the end of the trip

Booking a Fraser Island tagalong tour is by far the safest way to experience the island. It offers you the chance to drive or be driven and with a guide leading the way you’ve got all the fun without any of the worry. We supply all the 4WD’s on our tours and our fleet is made up of the ever reliable Toyota Landcruiser. Fully automatic and geared up for sand driving they are perfectly suited to be put through the challenges of driving on Fraser Island.
If you have a full/open drivers licence, are over 21 and passed your driving test more than 12 months ago you can drive one of our 4WD’s on tour. You need to have the Photo ID Card Licence with you and if your licence is not written in English or states ‘Drivers Licence’ on it in English you will need to provide an international translation.
