Your guide on tour will lead you through this beautiful journey. Explore the wild side of Tasmania. Visit the Tarkine rainforest and Montezuma Falls, hike through the Henty sand dunes and stay for 2 nights in picturesque Strahan. On this tour, we stay in dorm share or private rooms in hostels or upgrade to a motel stay for more comfort.

This morning you will depart Hobart, driving through tranquil Derwent Valley to Mt Field National Park. Here you will hike among some of the world’s tallest flowering trees and visit the beautiful Russell Falls. Next up we visit Lake St Clair, which is Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, and traversing the pristine Franklin-Gordon Wild River National Park. The drive into the Western Wilds offers breathtaking views of rainforests and rugged mountain scenery. Stop at Queenstown with its ‘moonscape’ and historic buildings, to get a taste of Tassie’s rich mining history. Then its onto your home for two nights in Strahan. A beautiful and historic town is one of the most picturesque places to stay in all of Tasmania.
Overnight: Strahan
Today you will explore the Tarkine rainforest and Tasmania’s highest waterfall, Montezuma Falls, followed by the Henty Sand Dunes. Or you can book onto the Gordon River Cruise (optional tour). Then its off to the stunning Ocean Beach to breathe the freshest air in the world. Back in Strahan, for the evening we will head to a secret spot to look for platypus at dusk.
Overnight: Strahan
Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is a World Heritage Area and hiker’s paradise. Today you can take the challenging and scenic track to Marion’s Lookout, or an impressive but easier option is the magnificent Dove Lake Circuit. Look for wombats at Ronny Creek, before departing Cradle Mountain to travel to Launceston via Sheffield (the Town of Murals).
