Important Information

Weather

  • Weather conditions in the Australian outback can change quickly and dramatically. Our experienced guides will always put the safety of our passengers first and stay abreast of weather conditions.
  • Itinerary changes may occur to ensure we provide the best possible experience. For example, in the hot summer months, from December to March, we may change the times of hikes to earlier in the day. Any itinerary changes will be communicated to the group in advance.

Tour Requirements

  • This is a participatory camping tour, meaning guests are expected to get involved by helping with basic tasks, such as meal preparation and packing up camp
  • To get the most from this adventure, you need to enjoy the outdoors, hike, and be able to cope with extreme weather conditions.
  • A moderate fitness level is required, and you need to be prepared for walks between 3-12 kilometres on some days. This may involve rough ground and perhaps getting wet

Accommodation

  • Accommodation includes a mix of national parks, bush campgrounds, and one night in shared dorm accommodation in Coober Pedy. Most campgrounds offer basic toilet and shower facilities, except for Warren Gorge, which does not have showers.

Food

  • Please advise of any special dietary requirements when you book. We offer plenty of variety and do our best to provide fresh products. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are not included.

Tour Arrival

  • Note the tour starts from Yulara / Ayers Rock Resort at 2PM on Day 1. The closest arrival airport is Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ) which have regular arrivals from most major cities in Australia.
  • Transfers from Alice Springs to Yulara (Uluru) are available to add on departing at 7AM or earlier from selected Alice Springs hotels. The shuttle will arrive in Yulara at 1PM, giving passengers enough time to arrive before our tour departs at 2PM. Pre booking available with Real Aussie Adventures

Add ons

  • Sleeping bags: Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Alternatively, you can hire a used sleeping bag for $20 during the booking process. All unused or retired sleeping bags are donated to a homeless charity, giving them a second life.
  • Swag Upgrade: Want a little extra comfort? You can upgrade to a deluxe double swag for $300 (sleeps up to two people). This version features a high-density foam mattress and mesh windows for ventilation. Availability is limited, and upgrades are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
