Most travellers head to Darwin and the Northern Territory between May and November each year in the cooler, drier months. this is when Jim Jim and Twin falls in Kakadu National Park open to the public.
The climate in the Northern Territory is very diverse. The habitat in the tropical top is completely different from the desert region around Alice Springs to Uluru. During the Wet Season (December- March) as a 4WD touring specialist, we do take passengers to Kakadu tours all year round. We have various waterfalls and cultural sites to visit in Kakadu National Park and also permeant tented camping and fans for those hotter nights.
The Northern Territory is where we go outback! All our tours here are packed full of adventure. Some with camping and some with permanent tents, depending on your preferred style. The basic camping we do in the NT is in swags, these are Australian bedrolls. Just like your own personal tent, that you slip your sleeping bag into for a night under the stars.
Darwin is also the starting place for our Kimberley tours. The Kimberley region of Australia spans the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Starting in Darwin and finishing in Broome this trip is a small group 10 day 4WD camping and hiking adventure.
We have Northern Territory adventure tours that are the best way to see the region for those on a budget or who want a value for money trip. We also have outback trips for those who require a little bit more style and comfort in Kakadu National Park. Some of our Top End tours have the option to upgrade to hotels or lodges on some of our trips if camping is not for you.
