Relax and swim at Greens Pool and see the rugged coastline of Albany. Our local guide will share their knowledge and passion for the beautiful and diverse region with you as well as a few hidden gems.
Day one sets off to an adventurous start with a canoe experience right along the river of Margaret River. See the wildlife and wildflowers and you paddle the river taking in clear calming water and maybe a swim if the weather is warm.
For over 50,000 years, the Wadandi and Bibbulman people of the Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River areas of Australia’s south-west have walked this ancient land. Together with other Aboriginal groups from an area that stretches from Kalbarri to Esperance, they are also known as Noongar. The Noongar culture is as rich and varied as the countryside itself, and their knowledge of the environment is incredible and fascinating. On day two it's your opportunity to follow in their footsteps and experience Wadandi and Bibbulman country through their eyes. Wadandi custodian Josh “Koomal” Whiteland will introduce you to the world’s oldest living culture with his authentic, personal interpretation.
Take a visit to Ngilgi Cave with Josh beneath the limestone ridge which forms Cape Naturaliste, lies Ngilgi Cave; one of Geographe Bay's most renowned natural attractions. Learn more about the fascinating association with a rich Aboriginal legend describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine) gives Ngilgi Cave its name.
Be moved by the skill and intensity of Josh’s didgeridoo playing and fire-making, taste native foods, discover bush medicine and meet the animals, plants and Dreaming spirits that have enriched the lives of Wadandi and Bibbulman people since time began.
Day 3 you will check out our south coast in Western Australia waves crashing against rocks and a rich history of whalers, shipwrecks and explorers. Plus Green Pool, surrounded by gradually sloping rock formations cut with small crevasses and pools, perfect for a cooling dip.
So much in just 3 days! Come to visit Margaret River and Albany with us on tour from Perth this summer.
