Start in Hobart heading to Russell Falls for a hike in Mt Field National Parks tall trees. Here you will visit Australia's deepest freshwater Lake, Lake St Clair. We will overnight for two nights in the small town of Strahan. Day two and we are cruising the West Coast to the famous Tarkine Rainforest with a hike to Montezuma Falls. On Day three we take you to one of Australia's iconic wilderness experiences Cradle Mountain. Known for stunning scenery, wilderness and superb walks you can either take the shorter walks or challenging hikes today.
Day four on tour and we traverse Tasmania to the East Coast. The Bay of Fires is a highlight today, this slice of coastal heaven stretches over 50 kilometers from Binalong Bay in the south to Eddystone Point in the north. Explore clean white beaches, blue water and granite rocks splashed with orange and red lichen. Then it's onto Wineglass Bay, we arrive nice and early to avoid the crowds for that perfect shot of the beautiful bay.
The last three nights on tour we are based in Hobart, but the adventure doesn't stop just yet. Day 6 you will be off to Bruny Island on the ferry, Enjoy Bruny's beautifully preserved natural environments with abundant wildlife and stunning cliff top views. Then you will visit Port Arthur Historic Site, established in the 1830s as a penal settlement. It remains a physical chronicle of a dramatic part of Australia's history. The last day on tour you can explore Hobart and visit Mona, Australia's largest private museum with a collection that includes antiquities and controversial contemporary art by artists from around the world. A wonderful way to end your Tasmania tour.

Hobart to Strahan
We leave Hobart and drive through the Derwent Valley – traveling east to west across the island. You’ll see the beautiful Russell Falls, walk among the Mt Field National Park Tall Trees, and visit Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, Lake St Clair. Explore the pristine Franklin-Gordon Wild River National Park and end the day in Strahan. Overnight: Strahan
Wild West Coast
In the untouched wilderness of Tasmania’s West Coast we will explore the shifting sands of Henty Dunes. Then we continue into the Tarkine Rainforest and walk to Tasmania’s highest waterfall – Montezuma Falls. Or you can choose to join the world-famous Gordon River Cruise (optional, at your own expense). Overnight: Strahan (B)
Cradle Mountain to Launceston
Around 950m above sea level is the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, where you can choose a walk to suit you. With an extensive range of tracks, stroll around Dove Lake or challenge yourself with a hike to Marion’s Lookout. A short drive takes us through Sheffield, the ‘town of murals’ and then to Launceston. Overnight: Launceston (B)
Launceston to Bicheno
We make our way to the East Coast and the beautiful Bay of Fires. If the conditions are right, this is the perfect place for a swim. Tasmania’s most scenic coastal drive takes you from St Helens to Bicheno where we meet the iconic Tasmanian devil as we stop at a wildlife sanctuary. This evening you may choose to join a viewing experience of the Little Penguins (optional at your own expense and seasonal). Overnight: Bicheno (B)
Freycinet National Park to Hobart
An early start means we are the first to the Wineglass Bay lookout, beating the crowds and the heat for that postcard photo. Relax on the secluded beach or choose the more challenging Mt Amos or a beach walk. We continue our journey south passing the coastal villages of Swansea and Orford before arriving back to Hobart. We journey south of Hobart to Kettering and board the vehicular ferry to cross the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to North Bruny Island. On the island, we stop at “The Neck” home to the Truganini Lookout and its spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of the Bruny Island coastline. Also, today we visit South Bruny Island and Adventure Bay, look for some local wildlife (including the white Bennetts wallabies) and sample some fresh local produce including oysters and cheese. Port Arthur Historic Site
We start with a visit to Australia’s best-preserved colonial village, Richmond, before we head south to explore Tasmania’s ruthless convict past at the World Heritage, listed Port Arthur Historic Site (guided walk and short harbor cruise included). Rich in visual history, learn of the chilling life as a convict in the restored sandstone prison buildings and preserved ruins. Overnight: Hobart (B)
Hobart and Mona Museum
Explore today at your leisure, the second oldest Australian capital city and its unique waterfront area of Hobart. Take a stroll around Battery Point and sample the local bakeries and cafes or try some fresh seafood at the docks around Sullivan’s Cove. After lunch, board the ferry and journey upriver to Mona (Museum of Old and New Art) and experience one of Tasmania’s most visited attractions. If you are not sure about some of the art, this place has its own brewery and winery. (B)
