Because your village homestay includes staying in a residential hilltop village, activities will vary throughout the year dependent on which residents are available at the time.
The homestay is based on two or three people staying with each family and accommodation is very basic and traditional. Most will not have the showers and toilets you have at your own home (some will not have showers at all) and toilets may be ‘long-drops’ that are separated from the main house. It won’t be the comfiest night of your travels but it will be the most unique!
Accommodation is subject to change and Yasawa Island resorts and activities may change order due to availability and other factors. You will always have an equal or better standard of accommodation provided if there are changes.
You will have many snorkeling opportunities on this trip so if it is an activity you take seriously (or you wear prescription glasses), you may wish to bring your own snorkeling mask and/or fins rather than using the equipment provided by the resorts.
If you choose to undertake a scuba dive course, you can split it up between both Yasawa resorts, irrespective of which resort we stay at first.
Customers traveling solo on the dorm share option will be placed in a dorm with others of the same gender however other roommates may be resort guests and not tour group members. Males and females traveling together on the dorm share option can request to be placed in a mixed dorm and may also be sharing with non-tour group members.
Compensation will not be given if it is not Manta-Ray season at Barefoot Manta when you travel or Manta Rays are not spotted during the season.
While wifi is available in most resorts, it is quite expensive, hence why we are providing you with a sim card to load with credit at the start of the tour. Any downloading of movies etc is recommended to be done before your tour. When you get to Fiji, you will automatically feel like slowing down into island mode. For this reason, and to make the most of the social aspect of the group, our guides will encourage you to put away your phones and tablets at mealtimes to promote good old-fashioned fun and conversation.
