Greg did the 6 day Alice Springs to Adelaide tour, here is a run down of his experience.
I did the Rock 2 Water six day trip with Real Aussie Adventures and it was brilliant! My friend and I needed a fun way to get from Alice Springs to Adelaide, and then we found this trip which was perfect as we got to spend 6 days travelling in a mini van with other travellers!
The first day we left Alice Springs and headed towards Kings Canyon. On the way there we were given the opportunity to ride camels which was a first time for a lot of us and was a great experience. We then arrived at Kings Canyon for a hike, but make sure you bring a head net as there can be a lot of flies about, but you barely notice them with the net on. The hike was fantastic as we got to see the gorge after walking through the canyon and seeing the sandstone walls whilst our tour guide told us about the history of it.
The next couple of days were spent seeing Uluru, which is just something you have to see whilst in Australia, especially seeing it at sunrise and sunset as we got to, so you can see it change colour, it's awesome! We also took a hike around Kata Tjuta, which is a rock formation near to Ulura and equally as impressive.
The following day we drove to Coober Pedy, which is a opal mining town. A lot of the town is under ground due to the heat, which is quite surreal to see at first. We got to see what homes look like underground and even stayed the night underground!
The last day was spent hiking through Aligator Gorge before stopping at a winery as we head to Adelaide. The tour was a lot of fun and our tour guide was very knowledgable and told us a lot of history about where we were. Some of the people of the trip also did a skydive over Uluru which they said was incredible! One of the best things about this trip was the fact that we slept in swags, which meant you really were sleeping under the stars!
I'd recommend this trip to anyone!!
