Route
Day 1: Adelaide, South Australia
Make your own way to Adelaide for an early afternoon check-in to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Why not take in the Adelaide Central Market, one of the largest undercover markets in the southern hemisphere, soak up the sunshine at Glenelg Beach, or perhaps visit one of the many sensational museums in the city. When you’re feeling peckish, you’ll be spoiled for choice – Adelaide is home of some of the country’s premier restaurants.
Overnight: Sage Hotel, Adelaide
Meals included: None
Day 2: Adelaide - Kangaroo, Island
With an early start, you will be collected from the hotel for a scenic coach transfer to Cape Jervis taking in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula with its vineyards, coastal views and rolling hills. On arrival, board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Here you will board your luxury SeaLink coach and your local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination.
Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park where you will be taken on a guided beach walk with an experienced guide and be amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close and see these wild creatures frolic and laze about – a truly amazing and unforgettable experience. Enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch at an Aussie Pub before visiting the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed some kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas while listening to the Keeper talk about the cuddly mammals. There is a photo opportunity to hold a Koala for an additional cost (additional cost).
Later, spend the afternoon in the Flinders Chase National Park, which was devastated in the worst fire to ever hit the island in January 2020. You’ll see that the regeneration of the native bush occurs so quickly after the event and there will be many opportunities to take photos. As you travel through the park, keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles, and koalas. See the rugged coastline from walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities, and the Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed Fur Seals. There is also a possibility that you will see more kangaroos and wallabies on your way to your overnight accommodation.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island - Adelaide
Your exploration of Kangaroo Island continues today. Start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast before heading off on a day tour. Today your local guide will introduce you to some of the island’s leading creators where you will see an “In-Flight” display of raptors and taste some local Kangaroo Island produce.
Your first stop will be the fascinating Birds of Prey Display at Raptor Domain for an educational, interactive, and inspiring experience. The only “In-Flight” Birds of Prey display in South Australia, it is thought by many to be the most interactive Birds of Prey display in Australia. Next, travel to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for a delicious 2-course lunch followed by an introductory talk about the history of the oil distillery and take a guided tour. Finish off with some free time in their souvenir shop where you will find an assortment of Eucalyptus products. Our next stop is the Clifford’s Honey Farm shop, home of the famous island homemade honey ice-cream. Here you can see a working beehive where you can try to spot the Queen bee, taste different varieties of pure Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey and sample honey beauty products and purchase goods to take home as a memento.
This afternoon visit Kangaroo Island Spirits*, a local company that specialises in handcrafted premium Australian Spirits and is South Australia’s only boutique distillery. Known as KIS, the company operates a micro distillery and the award-winning Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs are all produced on the premises. Our final stop on tour is the new False Cape Wines* cellar door which is made from recycled wood, jetty timbers and limestone sourced on the property. Here you can take part in a structured wine tasting while enjoying the peaceful views of the surrounding vineyards. Your tour ends at the Penneshaw Hotel where you have ample time to have dinner (own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for your ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.

Today is all about wine as you take in the famous Barossa Valley, internationally renowned for its high quality shiraz (though, truth be told, all their wine varietals are pretty delicious). Be sure to order a glass or two of the local drops while you’re in the area.
Be collected from the hotel and travel to the nearby Barossa Valley, enjoying views of its stunning vineyards along the way. Breathe in the fresh air and the beauty of the wineries, dotted amongst peaceful villages wrapped in leafy greenness.

Great trip to Kangaroo Island, wonderful local guide with great knowledge of Island. Top notch accommodation and breakfasts. I was sick with flu and couldn't go on the Barossa Valley Tour so cant comment of this excursion - however the rest of this Tour certainly lived up to my expectations and even excelled them. Would reccommend this tour to all. Many thanks, S.Rowlands

This package was wonderful, I would definitely recommend it to others. Our accommodation was in South Terrace Adelaide opposite a lovely park. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious.. Our overnight stay on Kangaroo Island was great. Would have liked to stay another night. All buses for the various parts of the trip were on time if not early. Our drivers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.--nothing was too much trouble for them.. Everything on the trip ran efficiently. If you get the chance to take this trip I'd take it.

It was a great trip.. KI was beautiful and we got to see so much of the island. Barossa Valley 4 wineries was the best day, mostly due to the fantastic bus driver that we had that day. He had so much knowledge and experience and told us lots of stories about the history of the area and we had lots of laughs and entertainment on his part.
