All about the 7 Day Perth To Exmouth Return

Spend a week getting to know Western Australia's spectacular coast on an expedition to sandy beaches, lively creatures, and some incredible scenery. Venture from Perth to the northern town of Exmouth, and then back again to experience a fantastic adventure along the Coral Coast.

On this tour we visit The Pinnacles Desert and the Discovery Centre, travel on the Indian Ocean Road, Chill out on white sandy beaches, pass the Kalbarri township, hike down the Z-Bend in the Murchison Gorge and try abseiling a 25 metre wall if you want. You can get a picture at the famous Natures Window in Kalbarri National Park, throw some shells in the air at Shell Beach and see the Stromatolites in Shark Bay. We stay at The Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort where you can see the Dolphins come into the beach, have a bit of free time for optional activities in Coral Bay, visit Cape Range National Park, go snorkeling on the Ningaloo Reef, head to Turquoise Bay. On the return to Perth we see native wildlife at The Greenough Wildlife Centre and stop at Lancelin Sand Dunes for a bit of sandboarding.

7 Day Perth To Exmouth Return Itinerary - 7 days

  1. Day 1 Perth to Kalbarri National Park
    Our first stop for the trip is the impressive Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park. We enjoy a fully guided tour through these amazing limestone formations and drop in at the Discovery Centre before we have lunch by the sea. After a sightseeing stop in the town of Geraldton it's on to Big River Ranch in Kalbarri National Park for some true blue Aussie hospitality and our overnight stay. (L,D)
  2. Day 2 Kalbarri to Shark Bay
    Today we visit the marvels of The Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park. Here you have the option to try abseiling (additional cost). Cool off with a swim in the Murchison River before we’re back on the bus and travel north to Shell Beach and Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort for our accommodation. (B, L, D)
  3. Day 3 Monkey Mia to Coral Bay
    This morning you will meet the famous Monkey Mia dolphins for some excellent photos. Then join an optional sea kayak (additional cost) or just chill out on the beach or at the resort. We visit the live rock formations ‘Stromatolites’ before we settle into our accommodation in Coral Bay, located right on the famous Ningaloo Reef. (BLD)
  4. Day 4 Coral Bay
    Today enjoy free time to experience the many great tours and activities Coral Bay has to offer. Go for a stroll on the beach and check out the shark nursery, swim with the manta rays (additional cost) or go for a snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef only metres from shore.
    Coral Bay is has phenomenal beaches and colourful reefs, plenty of nature for everyone to enjoy. This evening we take the short drive up the peninsular to Exmouth and check in our accommodation. (B,D)
  5. Day 5 Exmouth
    Today you will spend exploring Cape Range National park, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50km of pristine beaches. Relax on the beach or choose to go snorkelling at the stunning Turquoise Bay (snorkel hire $10), visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyearing Visitors Centre and more before we return to our accommodation late afternoon. Or you can choose to join any of the optional activities available including snorkeling with the friendly giants of the sea, the whale sharks (seasonal –additional cost) (B, L, D*)
  6. Day 6 Exmouth to Kalbarri
    For our return trip to Perth we visit the town of Carnarvon and one of the local banana or mango plantations (seasonal). We stay overnight at our accommodation in Kalbarri township. (B,L,D)
  7. Day 7 Kalbarri to Exmouth
    On day seven we visit the Kalbarri coastal cliffs and Pot Alley, a picturesque ocean gorge boasting spectacular ocean scenery. Next is Greenough Wildlife Park where you can feed the kangaroos and get up close and personal with the snakes.

    To finish off our great tour of the West, we visit the amazing Lancelin sand dunes where you may try the unique sport of sand boarding, if you seek a little more adventure. Kick back and relax on the bus for the last stretch to Perth, arriving at approximately 7:30pm. ( (B, L)

Things you need to know about this tour
  • Please advise us of any medical or mobility issues prior to booking. You must have a moderate level of fitness and be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Scuba Divers: On days 4 and/or 5 head out with one of our recommended dive companies to explore the more remote regions of the reef. Choose your package and let us take care of the booking either before you depart or once we arrive at Coral Bay or Exmouth.
  • Luggage should be restricted to 15kg in a soft bag or backpack plus a day pack.
  • Gluten free surcharge - 7 Day Perth to Exmouth and return $30. Vegetarian, lactose intolerant and vegan can be catered for at no additional cost, however, due to the remote locations visited the following fees are charged for gluten free (paid locally). Please advise at time of booking if you have special dietary requirements.
