Arrive Rainbow Beach
Check in with the friendly crew at Frasers on Rainbow hostel in time to attend the 2pm ‘Follow the Rainbow’ safety briefing (compulsory for all travellers). You’ll see a video featuring the Fraser Island’s highlights, receive an itinerary with map and tide times and get lots of information to ensure you have the maximum fun as safely as possible. There’s also some driver training covering vehicle safety and how to drive on soft sand. Overnight multi-share accommodation included, dinner tonight is at own expense.
Rainbow Beach to Fraser Island
It’s an early start to pack your bags, food and camping equipment into the 4-wheel drives. Then it’s off to the ferry for the 10 minute transfer to Fraser Island and the start of your camping adventure. After checking out the local highway known as 75 Mile Beach, other highlights today may include Central Station and Lake McKenzie. At the end of the day set up camp and cook a healthy and delicious dinner. (LD)
After breakfast at camp, today you may see Eli Creek, the Maheno ship wreck, the coloured sands at The Pinnacle, Indian Head and Champagne Pools. You are sure to find another beautiful camping location tonight. (BLD)
Fraser Island to Rainbow Beach
Highlights today may include Rainbow Gorge and a hike through rainforest to Lake Wabby. In the afternoon you’ll make your way back to the ferry and return to the mainland and Rainbow Beach. Two nights multi-share accommodation is included at Frasers on Rainbow – plenty of time to hang out with your new friends. (BL)
Depart Rainbow Beach
Your adventure finishes this morning when you check out of your accommodation. Feel free to store your luggage in our free luggage store until you depart Rainbow Beach.

Important NotesThings you need to know about this tour
- Available only to persons 18 years or older.
- Open-dated tickets must book at least 7 days in advance and cannot be used between 21st and 31st of December
- All travellers must leave a credit card or cash security bond.
- Sleeping bags ($10) and alcohol are at an additional cost and payable locally
- An optional $10 insurance excess reducer is available.
- All travellers must attend the 2pm safety briefing on Day 1.

- Luggage should be restricted to 15 kg per person in a soft bag or backpack with a small day pack for easy access to camera, sunblock etc.
